YPSA is implementing a project titled “Agriculture Unit” in collaboration with Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).

Job Title: Fisheries Officer

Duration: Up to June 2025 (Extendable upon performance)
No. of Vacancy: 1
Job Location: Chattogram
Monthly Salary: Consolidated BDT 50,000/- with other admissible benefits as per the project-approved budget.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Fisheries Officer will work under the direct supervision of the focal person and perform the following duties:

  • Assist in planning, monitoring, and supervising the implementation of Agriculture Unit fisheries activities.
  • Identify potential microenterprises (MEs) and provide technical support at the cluster level.
  • Select MEs for demonstration, set up demonstration activities, and follow up.
  • Prepare training manuals, leaflets, and case stories related to the fisheries sector.
  • Conduct training on climate-resilient techniques, GAqP/GMP, and climate change vulnerability.
  • Organize field days, exposure visits, meetings, workshops, seminars, and fairs.
  • Explore circular economy, value-added product diversification, and new market potentiality.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports as required by management.
  • Maintain linkages with government departments, academicians, value-chain actors, and private sector companies.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the senior management of the organization.

Educational Qualification:

  • B.Sc. in Fisheries/Marine Sciences from a UGC-approved university.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Fisheries, Marine Sciences, Aquaculture, Fisheries Management, Fisheries Biology and Genetics, or Fisheries Technology.

Experience Requirement:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in the relevant sector (only full-time work experience after graduation will be considered).
  • Experience with PKSF projects or projects funded by multilateral development partners will be preferred.
  • Experience in enterprise development projects will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of resource efficiency, HACCP, product diversification, certification, environment, climate change, and vulnerability.
  • Practical experience in developing training modules, leaflets, and case stories.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and team-working skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant applications.

Age Limit:

Maximum 40 years of age on the last date of application.
